The Sloka church organ has a rich history, with its first iteration built by Otto Christoph Jaskowsky, an organ builder, organist, and district school teacher from Džūkste, who was active around 1830. The current Sloka church was consecrated on January 31, 1854, and in 1863, a new organ with 8 stops was built by the Riga-based organ builder August Martin. By 1906, this instrument was considered old and inadequate, leading to the commissioning of a new organ from E.F. Walcker & Co., Ludwigsburg, which was consecrated on October 16, 1911.

One unique feature of the Sloka church organ is its third manual, known as the "Fernwerk" or echo organ, with windchests located in the attic and sound emanating directly above the altar. Over the years, the organ underwent several repairs and modifications, especially after World War I and II, when significant pipework was lost and replaced. Various restorations have been undertaken, including work in the 1920s, 1950s, and more recently in the 1980s and 1990s. Despite some modern interventions, the organ retains its original romantic disposition with some influences from the "Orgelbewegung" movement, making it a valuable historical and musical artifact in the Riga region.

Overall, the Sloka church organ stands out as the largest historical organ in the Riga area, built during a period when E.F. Walcker was producing approximately 1000 organs annually. The organ's superb intonation and classical disposition, along with unique features like the "Fernwerk," underscore its historical significance and the skill of its original builders and restorers.
