The history of Walcker organs traces back to Johann Eberhard Walcker (1756 - 1843), who founded the firm in Cannstatt in 1780. Notable achievements include the organ for St. Paul's Church in Frankfurt (1833) and international installations in Russia, Ulm, and Boston. Eberhard Friedrich Walcker (1794 - 1872) continued the legacy, introducing technical innovations like the cone valve in 1840. After his death, management passed to his sons, Heinrich, Fritz, Paul, and Karl, who built organs for prominent locations such as the Philadelphia Exposition and Vienna Cathedral.

In the 20th century, Oscar Walcker collaborated with Max Reger and Dr. Albert Schweitzer, embracing new organ reform movements. Notable projects include the "Praetorius Organ" in Dortmund (1909) and the Freiburg Institute of Music (1921). Dr. Oscar Walcker's death in 1948 marked a transition to Werner Walcker-Mayer, who continued the tradition, producing over 3000 organs, including notable ones in Vienna, Salzburg, Budapest, and Ulm. He rebuilt the "Praetorius Organ" and conducted significant research on historical organs, receiving an honorary doctorate in 1980. The legacy of Walcker organs spans over 220 years, upheld by generations of dedicated craftsmen.
