In 1938, Herbert Kolbe constructed new organs utilizing many pipes from previous organs. The style of the old pipes suggests that the previous organs were built by Friedrich Weissenborn. The Preiļi Church organs are among the largest built by Kolbe.

These organs, predominantly featuring material from Weissenborn's previous constructions, highlight Kolbe's significant project. They stand as one of the largest and most notable examples of his work, showcasing a blend of historical craftsmanship with Kolbe's enhancements.
