The organ of St. Lamberti Church in Oldenburg, built by Alfred Führer in 1972, is the largest organ in the Oldenburg region, featuring 52 registers. In 2008, the organ was extensively renovated and expanded by the organ-building company Mühleisen, which added two new registers—Grand Bourdon 32’ and Flûte harmonique 8’—and upgraded the setzer system to allow for 3999 stored combinations. Additionally, a monitor was installed to improve the connection between the altar and the organ. This organ is regularly used in church services, monthly organ music sessions, and concerts.
The history of the organ at St. Lamberti dates back to 1481, with various rebuilds and renovations over the centuries by notable builders like Hermann Kröger and Johann Martin Schmid. The current organ, constructed by Alfred Führer, replaced an earlier instrument by Johann Martin Schmid from 1903. The 2008 renovation by Mühleisen not only expanded the organ's capabilities but also ensured it remains a centerpiece of musical life in the region, further enhanced by the addition of a mobile console in 2014.
