The organ in St. Johannis Church in Lüchow was built by the Hermann Eule organ workshop in Bautzen during 2005-2006. This three-manual organ, with 47 registers across the Hauptwerk, Positiv, Schwellwerk, and Pedal, was designed as a modern complement to the historically influenced organ landscape of the Lüchow-Dannenberg region. The organ's design, including its façade and case, was crafted by Swiss sculptor Karl Imfeld, reflecting the theme "Wind – Spirit – Breath" (Hebrew "ruach"). This contemporary instrument stands as the largest entirely new organ in recent years within the Hannover Church region.
The Lüchow organ is celebrated annually during the Lüchow Organ Festival in late June, featuring four concerts showcasing this remarkable instrument. Additionally, it plays a central role in the Passionsandachten series, Advent organ music, and various other concerts throughout the year. The organ, which also appears on the NOMINE-CD "Orgellandschaften," is not only an auditory experience but also a visual one, thanks to its prominent placement and design in the church's chancel area.
