The organ at St. Cyprian and Cornelius in Ganderkesee was initially built by Arp Schnitger in 1699, featuring two manuals with 16 stops and an attached pedal. In 1760, Johann Hinrich Klapmeyer added an independent pedal with six stops in two side towers, although it lacked a 16' labial stop. Subsequent modifications occurred in 1819/20 by organ builder Schmid I, who replaced the pedal mixture with a Subbass 16', and in 1889/90 by Schmid III.

In 1934/35, Alfred Führer conducted the first restoration, altering the disposition. Further changes were made in 1958 by Gustav Brönstrup. In 1966, another restoration by Alfred Führer aimed to return the organ to its 1766 state, although the Subbass 16' was retained instead of the original pedal mixture. From 2003 to 2005, Heiko Lorenz carried out a complete restoration, replacing non-original parts in Schnitger's style, including keyboards modeled after Schnitger's organ in Dedesdorf. The organ's original tin prospect pipes were preserved throughout these changes.
