In the same blessing party and premiere of the auditorium of the Palau de la Música Catalana, held on the afternoon of February 9, 1908, his organ was inaugurated. The construction was commissioned to the German house of E. F. Walcker et Cie., based in Ludwigsburg, and the façade was designed by the architect himself director of the Palace, Lluís Domènech i Montaner.
In 1915, the firm Walcker intervened again with the renewal of the traction system, which moved from the original tire to the electric one. Later, in 1973 the transformation of the instrument carried out by Organería Espa'ola, SA, which modified some records, made a mobile electric console and left the fourth keyboard of echo. In 1982, with the remodelling of the Palace, the original location of the tubes of this keyboard, located in the dome of the executioners' coverol, was definitively lost in the middle of the house of the director of the orphan and his family.
In 1997, the instrument was partially disassembled and was disused until 2002 when work began to restore the original Walcker instrument by Gerhard Grenzing, with the collaboration of Christian Scheffler and his team specialized in German romantic organs. The fourth keyboard, currently behind the organ wall, was also recovered with an acoustic duct. The console, although new, is a copy of the original console.
