Organ built in 2010 by Blancafort OM.
In one of the most emblematic spaces in the world, the presbytery organ is the first of several organs needed to sound a space as large as this one.
As the only organ, it performs functions such as liturgical accompaniment, cultural events and the sounding of the space throughout the day thanks to an automatic reproduction system that makes the organ sound every half hour with the pieces that its titular organist, Juan de la Rubia, has programmed.
Its 26 registers have to fill the enormous space with music, which is why its harmonisation is of great presence.
It was designed to withstand an extremely dirty environment and with a lot of dust due to the continuous works in the temple, which causes a lot of dirt to be deposited both inside the instrument and inside its ducts, canals, secrets and tubes.
However, this instrument perfectly holds this anomalous situation for an organ and extremely intense daily use.
