The organ was originally built in 1970 by Carl Schuster as a choir organ for the church in the mother house of the Congregation of Merciful Sisters in Nußbaumstraße (Munich). When the main organ there was decommissioned, a decision was made in 1984/85 to expand it by adding a second manual and a pedal register by Norbert Krieger. The organ also received a new console during this process. However, because the mother house moved to other buildings in 2007 and couldn't take the organ with them, it sold it to the St. Florian church community in Messestadt, and it was constructed there by Christoph Kaps.
