The organ was constructed by Matthias Joachim Vogel in 1767. Some changes to the registers were made by Marcussen and Kemper, although the exact timing is unknown. In 1967, Klaus Becker carried out extensive renovations. Many of the original registers are still intact. One unique feature of this organ is the fully preserved Principal 8' in the prospect, with the gilded masks on the labia.
