The organ was constructed by Marcussen & Søn in Apenrade, Denmark, in 1914. In 1950/51, significant modifications were made by Walcker in Ludwigsburg, including electrification and reorganization in the style of the neo-baroque, as well as the extension of a third manual work (Positivlade). In 2009, the organ was largely restored to its original state by the Klais company in Bonn, including the original pneumatic console. Since then, the console can also be controlled from a newly installed central console added in 2009.
