The organ was constructed by E.F. Walcker & Cie. (Ludwigsburg) with Opus 3793 in 1959. It replaced the organ of the old Baroque Trinity Church, a previous structure created by Johann Dietrich Busch from Itzehoe in 1744, which was destroyed along with the church in the Hamburg firestorm of 1943. Notably, in 1970/71, the organ underwent a refurbishment by Walcker. This included the introduction of electricity to what was originally a mechanically operated instrument.
