Jacob Westervik, born in 1736, was a notable Swedish organ builder based in Stockholm. He was the son of Erik Westerwijk, a master carpenter in Stockholm, and learned the craft of organ building from Carl Holm, an amateur organ builder and councilor in Uppsala. By 1760, Westervik was working as a journeyman for his brother-in-law, Lars Kinström, who was an organist and organ builder at Hedvig Eleonora parish. Westervik received his privileges as an independent organ builder in 1765.
Despite his skills, only the façades of the organs in Kimstad, Sollentuna, and Hacksta churches have survived to this day. Between 1780 and 1781, Westervik worked as a journeyman with prominent organ builders Olof Schwan and Matthias Swahlberg the Younger in the Vattenormen quarter of Kungsholmen parish in Stockholm. His contributions to Swedish organ building are remembered for their craftsmanship and the continuation of a tradition of fine organ construction during the 18th century.
