The organ currently in the Zaļenieki church was built by Carl Herrmann in 1862, with the instrument costing approximately 2000 rubles and consecrated on February 21 of that year. The organ's original prospect and some of its pipes were built by Johann Theodor Tiedemann in 1837, and it was reportedly renovated by Carl Herrmann as early as 1840. Subsequent changes and maintenance to the organ include modifications by Jēkabpils master Platais in 1904, who replaced several original registers with pipes from A. Laukhuff, improving the sound quality.

Throughout its history, the organ has undergone various repairs and restorations. Notable work includes significant maintenance in 1931, the installation of an electric blower in 1932, and further repairs in 1943. More recent restorations were conducted by the Ugāles organ workshop starting in 2004, focusing on cleaning, tuning, and regulating the mechanics. From 2011 to 2012, additional restoration was carried out on the organ's pipes. The instrument remains one of the largest built by Liepāja organ builder Carl Herrmann in Latvia and is preserved almost in its original state, housed within the 1837 prospect built by Tiedemann.
