The organ at St. Peter and Paul in Wurster Nordseeküste/Cappel has an interesting history, having been originally built for the St. Johannis-Kloster in Hamburg. After a fire in 1810 destroyed the church in Cadenberge along with its relatively new Wilhelmy organ, the newly erected church acquired this organ in 1816 for 600 talers. Remarkably, the organ has remained nearly unchanged since its acquisition.

In 1977, a restoration was carried out by Rudolf von Beckerath, which included a thorough inventory and assessment of the organ's condition. Further maintenance work on the bellows system was completed in 2009, also by Beckerath, ensuring the preservation and continued functionality of this historic instrument.
