The current organ in the Vijciems church is at least the third instrument to have been installed there. The previous organ, purchased around 1874, was not successful. The existing organ was built in 1878 by Bauska master Radziņš and was consecrated on November 26, 1878, costing about 1000 rubles. The local publication praises the organ for its 12 registers and pleasing appearance, despite being somewhat cramped for the space, which diminishes its sound. Radziņš is commended for his craftsmanship and dedication, having studied abroad with renowned organ builders to enhance his skills. The previous organ, reportedly bought cheaply from a market and resold to the church for 500 rubles, was considered inadequate and was replaced with relief and satisfaction by the congregation.
The organ built by Radziņš is the only known surviving instrument from this Bauska organ builder. The construction quality bears some resemblance to the instruments of August Martin. However, the significant presence of A. Laukhuff pipes raises questions about the fate of the original pipes. This suggests possible later modifications or replacements that have altered the instrument's original state.
