The organ and its prospect in Skaistkalne Church are outstanding cultural and historical monuments from the late 17th to early 18th centuries. Along with the church, built in 1692, these elements exemplify the sacred art environment cultivated by the Jesuit Order (Societas Jesu) in the region. The organ is the work of renowned Courland organ builder Cornelius Rhaneus. The most preserved part of the instrument is its prospect, featuring intricate baroque sculptural details, such as violins held by angel figures, showcasing the craftsmanship of musical instruments typical of the baroque era.

Over the years, the organ has undergone several reconstructions, reflecting the aesthetic ideals of each period. These changes have affected its disposition, technical auxiliary devices, and coloring, ensuring the organ's continued use and adaptation while maintaining its historical significance.
