The current organ was built in 1928 and consecrated on December 16th. It was constructed by the Latvian organ builder Kaspars Skerstens, whose untimely death halted the project. The work was completed by A. Krāns. The instrument's cost of around 9000 Latvian lats was slightly higher than anticipated, due to complications during construction and the builder's death, as reported by the newspaper “Svētdienas Rīts.” Between 1968 and 1976, the organ was repeatedly vandalized, leading to significant damages.

Efforts to identify and hold the perpetrators accountable resulted in a recovery of 260 rubles. Major repairs were undertaken by “Latvijas ērģeles,” which included installing a motor, crafting mixture pipes, and other restoration works. Despite these efforts, the organ suffered further damages from deliberate or accidental vandalism. In 1997, the mixture pipes were straightened, a new pipe frame was constructed, and other missing or broken parts were replaced by K. Putriņš. In 2003, the pneumatic leathers of the second manual's substation were re-laminated by A. Melbārdis, continuing the efforts to maintain and restore the organ's functionality and integrity.
