The beautiful baroque St. Nikolai Church in the village of Hohenfelde houses a historic Marcussen organ from 1890, which has remained virtually unchanged and boasts a rich palette of fundamental tonal colors. All efforts in the sixties to transform this instrument in the taste of the time into neo-Baroque (as happened, for example, in St. Dionysius Süderau or St. Michaelis Hohenaspe) failed - fortunately, from today's perspective.
The instrument is currently in need of significant renovation, but in its integrity, it remains a remarkable example of North German organ building in the Romantic era.
