The St. Dionys Church in Hamelwörden houses an organ originally built by Georg Wilhelm in 1843, replacing an older instrument dating back to 1565. This new organ, equipped with two manuals, a pedal, and 16 registers, has undergone significant modifications over the years, including a major overhaul by the company Furtwängler & Hammer in 1934. This rebuild preserved only parts of the original organ, such as the case, the prospect pipes, a 2' register, and the wind chests, while other elements were replaced or modified.

Recognizing the historical significance of Wilhelm's work, a restoration and reconstruction project was initiated, led by the A. Schuke organ building company. The project was conducted in two phases, completed in 1999 and 2005, with the final phase of color restoration done in 2009. The restoration aimed to bring the organ back to its original 1843 configuration, restoring its historical sound and craftsmanship while maintaining the integrity of the remaining original components. Today, the organ stands as a testament to the legacy of 19th-century German organ building.
