The organ in the Dorfkirche of Blankenhagen was originally built by Arp Schnitger in 1687 for the Reformed Church in Hamburg-Altona. In 1833, Heinrich Rasche relocated the organ to Blankenhagen, where he also undertook a significant rebuild and reconfiguration of the instrument in 1851.
Further modifications were made by Carl Börger in 1899. In 2003, Alexander Schuke's workshop restored the organ to its 1851 condition. The organ's case saw changes in 1917 when the prospect pipes were surrendered for war efforts; these were subsequently reconstructed by Carl Börger after 1918.
