The 1925 G.F. Steinmeyer Organ op. 1400 is a monumental artifact from the post-romantic period, renowned for being one of the few such instruments worldwide still preserved in its original state. This grand organ, comprising 71 registers, was designed by the noted Berlin concert organist Otto Dunkelberg, who was known for his later performances at the Passauer Dom, home to what was once the world's largest church organ. Reflective of its era, this organ embodies characteristics of the German-Alsatian organ reform led by Rupp-Schweitzer, distinguished by a brighter sound profile and influenced by Steinmeyer's American connections, which brought unique features like extensive manual and pedal ranges, comprehensive sub and super octave couplings, and string choirs.

Surviving World War II and the various architectural and stylistic changes of the post-war period, including the shift towards neobaroque design in organ building, this organ stands as a testament to historical craftsmanship and resilience. Following years of degradation due to wear and weather, the organ was meticulously restored over three years by Orgelbau Fleiter, culminating in its re-inauguration in 2018. Today, the Steinmeyer Organ op. 1400 is celebrated not only for its rich and versatile sound that accommodates a broad range of compositions—from 19th-century German, French, and Anglo-American music to early 20th-century interpretations—but also as a peak example of late/post-romantic organ design by Steinmeyer, alongside the now-lost Passauer Dom organ. The acoustics of the Ss. Corpus Christi Church, with a reverberation time of up to 6 seconds, further enhances its majestic sound.
