This is the fifth of five organs built by Rober Cecil Clifton.
Built 1895–1908 for the music room of R C Clifton's home at 231 Adelaide Terrace, Perth.
Removed to the North Perth Congregational Church by J.E. Dodd in 1946.
Removed by F.J. Larner and Co. in 1976 and relocated with several alterations to St Alban's Church, Highgate.
Removed by F.J. Larner and Co. in August 2014 and relocated to St Anne's Catholic Church, Belmont.
The casework of this organ, designed by Clifton in the Gothic style, resembling the work of A.G. Hill in Britain, is of considerable distinction, with carved pipe shades, cresting and projecting V tower. Much of the intricate carving was executed by the renowned artisan James Walter Robert Linton, 1869-1947. In his working career, Linton was an art teacher, painter, water-colourist, woodcarver, furniture maker, technical/TAFE college teacher, and silversmith, all in Western Australia.
The spotted metal pipework was manufactured in Melbourne by George Fincham & Son, organ builders. All the wood pipes were made by Clifton in Perth.
