The organ was constructed by Rieger Orgelbau, located in Schwarzach, Austria, in 1988. It was built as a replacement to its predecessor, which was crafted by Friedrich Albert Mehmel in Stralsund in 1881. The new structure by Rieger was constructed into the existing housing from Mehmel's organ.
