The organ was constructed by Emanuel Kemper & Sohn in 1965, originally featuring 12 registers. Following the original build, it underwent alterations a number of times. In 1973, Eberhard Tolle performed a reintonation. Later, in 1984, Rudolf Neuthor expanded the organ to include 22 registers, an addition of 10 registers to its original configuration.
