The organ was constructed by Rudolf von Beckerath Orgelbau in Hamburg and Anton Škrabl in Rogaška Slatina, Slovenia, in 1998. It was originally assigned to the Ars Organi in the Geesthacht community and specifically, the St. Petri Church in Geesthacht, as mentioned in Beckerath's worklist and on the Škrabl workshop website. The organ was actually a collaborative project between these two organ builders, as informed by the managing director of Rudolf von Beckerath Orgelbau GmbH, Holger Redlich, on September 5, 2016. He also mentioned that the organ has since been relocated to the Catholic parish St. Answer in Ratzeburg.
