The current organ comes from the St. John's Church in Gdansk, where the Merten Friese organ from 1625 was removed in 1943 to protect it from war bombings. After the war, only the facade and 106 facade pipes were preserved. Based on the organ's original design, the Hillebrand Brothers company reconstructed and expanded the organ in 1985.
