The organ was constructed by Hans Schwarzenbach in 1599. Originally built as a 'swallow's nest' organ in 1509, it was moved to a gallery in 1609. In 1618, it underwent its first major overhaul. Additional repairs were carried out in 1670. Later, in 1690, the organ was transported over two trips from Eppan to Auer and placed in St. Peter's Church. In 1850, Karl Mauracher significantly modified it, removing the iron lever and adjusting the register knobs. Josef Sies made more considerable changes in 1870. The organ was restored by Johann Pirchner in Steinach in 1982.
