Kurt Quathamer completed his organ-building apprenticeship at Orgelbau Führer in Wilhelmshaven from 1980 to 1985, continuing there as a journeyman. From 1986 to 1993, he gained further experience in various organ-building firms in Germany and the Netherlands, enhancing his skills in craftsmanship and sound. In the USA, he adopted new techniques at three different firms. Inspired by these experiences, he attended the master school for organ building in Ludwigsburg from 1993 to 1994. In 1995, Quathamer established his own workshop near Kiel, later moving to a larger facility in Bordesholm in 1998 due to increased demand.
