Karl Heinrich Schäfer (born November 18, 1838, died May 24, 1922) was a prominent German organ builder from Heilbronn. He hailed from a family with a strong tradition in organ building and received his training under the guidance of his father, Johann Heinrich Schäfer. Karl Heinrich took over his father's workshop and continued the family legacy in organ construction. However, after his death in 1922, the workshop in Heilbronn ceased operations.
His son, Karl Franz Schäfer (born March 14, 1872), decided to leave Germany and emigrated to Switzerland in January 1899. This move marked the end of the direct continuation of the Schäfer family’s organ-building tradition in Germany.
