Antonín Reiss (1741–1815), a native of Trutnov, settled in Prague. Noteworthy among his works is the organ he built for the Franciscan monastery church in Slaný, which was integrated into the altar in 1776. Besides instruments in the deanery church of St. Gothard in Slaný and in Slapy nad Vltavou, he constructed organs for the Paulan monastery in Prague (1790), in Lužec nad Vltavou (II/12), Veliš (1797), Svatý Jan pod Skalou, and Mladá Vožice (1800).
Reiss’s artistic design remained largely consistent and somewhat conservative. Only the carved decorations varied, incorporating more classicist elements in Mladá Vožice. The basic concept of his medium and large instruments remained classically three-part until the early 19th century, emphasizing vertical lines. The pedestal was simple and tall. The main organ case featured a dominant central tower and two smaller ones, with a field in between. This field was capped with a characteristic slanted cornice, narrowing at one end and transitioning into a volute. The massive crown cornices varied in angle across different works, sometimes switching the C/C-sharp case (as seen in Slaný and Rabštejn). The positive organ with a built-in console remained consistent.
